I have tried the Speedo and Water Gear prescription goggles (but not the Barracuda goggles), and find both to be good solutions (at least for a myopic swimmer), but the Water Gear optical layer is a lot more durable, lasts a year or so with reasonable care. As swimmers know, fit of the seals is critical and depends upon your particlular facial structure. With the Water Gear Goggles, at least the nosepiece and double banded headstrap are highly adjustable and if the seals fit well, the other adjustments can be adjusted to exact fit. As with the other optical goggles, the prrescriptions do not transfer from the optomitrist to the underwater or overwater environment exactly, but are a reasonable compromise and they are available only in 2 diopter increments anyway. Best advice: try a friend’s on in the pool to be sure they fit and seal well, & then order the closest optical prrescription to your glasses. If you have two widely disparate prescriptions, as I have, you’ll have to order two pair in different prescriptions and then mix and re-assemble in the right combination. I think they are the best value in prescription goggles. Good swimming.
